Strong Wind Beginner Ukulele Review
My kids love music and my daughter has had a ukulele for about a year. My son decided he wanted to start learning as well, but he didn't want to learn on his sister's pink ukulele. I thought this brown one looked a little more mature for him and that he would like that.
The package arrived with the Strong Wind ukulele, a carrying case, two picks, extra strings and a cleaning cloth. I was really surprised when I opened this up, because the ukulele was beautiful and the shade of brown just lovely. I was quite impressed. I have to say that this looks so much nicer than the pink ukulele my daughter has, which cost about the same (and with no extra accessories) that we purchased at the music store. The ukulele did need to be tuned before using, but that's pretty typical of all these instruments and since my oldest daughter plays the guitar, we already had a tuner on hand. This does come with plastic strings, so you may want to swap those out for better ones. That is pretty much my only complaint on this ukulele. Overall, we're really happy with this ukulele. It truly is a beautiful instrument and my son really likes it. He's a year older than his sister, so the brown is just perfect for him since it looks almost like a mini guitar and not as bright and whimsical. This is a beginner ukulele, which is what we wanted. If he sticks with it, I'd be happy to purchase a more expensive ukulele or guitar if he chooses, but this is an awesome starter instrument. He's also been using it for ten months at this point, with no issues and has learned to play quite a few songs on it, including Stand by Me, courtesy of some great Youtube tutorials.
