September 2018 Empties

These are all the beauty products I've used up completely and finished in the month of September. When you've used up an entire product, it's easier to have a true opinion on how it works. There's skincare, every day items and beauty products listed, but no makeup products this month. How did they work? Did I use them up for the sake of using them up and not being wasteful, or do I really enjoy them. Would I buy them again?

Le Petit Marseillais Lavender Honey Body Wash

I first received a sample bottle of this from Chickadvisor. I really enjoyed the scent as well as the lather and the way my skin felt. This is actually my third bottle. This used to be a little pricey for the grocery/drug store and I used to only purchase when it was on sale, but I've noticed the price coming down over time. I actually used to pick this up at my local Zehrs, but when I went in to replace this empty, they didn't have the brand anymore. Hoping I can find it at another store, but I just haven't had the time to go in. Overall though, I love the scent of many Le Petit Marseillais body washes and this particular one is my favourite. It gives a good lather and leaves me feeling clean, lightly moisturized and with a clean, classic scent that isn't too heavy.

Would I buy again? Absolutely! As I mentioned this is my third one. As soon as I can locate a place that sells it, I will be repurchasing.

Le Petit Marseillais Mandarin & Lime Body Wash

As I mentioned above, I really enjoy Le Petit Marseillais Body Washes. I received this one as a sample to test out and liked the fragrance of it. It's very crisp and refreshing and I liked using it in the morning to give a little bit of a wake me up. That being said...it's not my favourite fragrance and I generally found myself reaching for my other scents over this one. It did lather up well, but I didn't feel quite as moisturized as with the other scents, although I didn't feel it dried my skin out at all.

Would I buy again? Probably not. While there is nothing wrong with it, I simply enjoy the other fragrances more.

Dove Advanced Care Invisible Sheer Fresh Deodorant

Secret used to be my go-to brand until it started irritating my underarms. I'm not sure if it was the particular fragrance I purchased or if the formula changed, but I switched over to Dove and the issue went away. I haven't gone back to test out the fragrance free again (which I usually lean towards in deodorants anyway). This one is 'invisible' so it doesn't leave marks all over my clothing and the scent is light, but clean smelling. It works for me and it doesn't bother my skin. It keeps me feeling dry and odour free, which is what we all look for in a good deodorant.

Would I buy again? Yes. I had no issues with this particular deodorant. It worked as it should, the price is right and the fragrance was light and clean.

Gillette Satin Care Dry Skin Shave Gel with Shea Butter

I usually switch back and forth between a couple of different brands of shave gel depending which is on sale. I'm not all that picky as long as it moisturizes, smells nice and helps the razor glide over my skin as it's supposed to do. Gillette Satin Care always performs as it should for me. It protects my skin from the razor helping it glide over, it doesn't dry my skin out and the plentiful lather smells nice.

Would I buy again? Absolutely! Gillette Satin Care is one of my favourite brands.

Dove Macadamia & Rice Milk Exfoliating Body Polish

I received samples of this Dove Exfoliating Body Polish. The scrub was creamy, yet had enough exfoliators in it to feel as if it gently rubbed away all the dry skin. It left my skin feeling soft and moisturized, which is nice considering some leave you feeling a bit dry. This one does the job while still feeling gentle and moisturizing. The scent was light and fresh...not overwhelming at all.

Would I buy again? I did enjoy this, but probably not. At least not anytime soon. I have a few other jars of body scrubs that I enjoy using and need to finish up first.

M.A.D. Skincare Delicate Skin Cleansing Gel

I received a deluxe sample size of this cleansing gel in one of my Ipsy Glam Bags. I wasn't too enthused about receiving it, since I don't usually like receiving skin care, but I decided to try it out anyway. Little did I know I would become hooked on this. It has a light gel texture that is a little runny coming out of the tube, but it feels very nice on the skin and it builds up this really nice bubbly foam when I massage it onto my skin. It washes off easily without leaving a residue feeling behind and leaves my face feeling completely clean. The scent is light and clean. I've used Cetaphil for years and didn't think I could be swayed away, but I really just love the way this feels on my skin.

Would I buy again? Definitely! I haven't been able to locate somewhere to buy a full sized product, but I've been buying up every sample size that I can get my hands on (which is actually a little cheaper than buying the full sized anyway). I'll be sad the day I use up my last one if I haven't located a semi-affordable source that ships to Canada.

That's it for September! Not as many as last month, but still quite a few. Have you tried out any of these products yourself? What did you think?
