October 2018 Empties - Buy or Bye
These are all the beauty products I've used up completely and finished in the month of October. When you've used up an entire product, it's easier to have a true opinion on how it works. There's skincare, every day items and beauty products listed, but no makeup products this month. How did they work? Did I use them up for the sake of using them up and not being wasteful, or do I really enjoy them. Would I buy them again?
Olay makes some of my favourite drugstore body washes. I feel they lather up really well and have some of the nicest scents available. I enjoy them though because I feel they are one of the most moisturizing ones I've used. This particular bottle and scent was more for the family though. It was more appropriate for my teen son and daughter because he doesn't really like things with strong scents and he wouldn't use anything that was even remotely feminine. This one just smells a bit like Shea butter and is pretty simple. Like the Olay fragrances I prefer though, it still lathers up well and moisturizes while not feeling like it leaves a residue behind..
Would I buy again? Absolutely! Olay body washes tend to go on sale quite a bit, so I tend to pick up a few at a time when they do. I wouldn't hesitate to repurchase this particular one.
I received a couple of these in my Ipsy bag one month and was very excited to try them out. The sheet masks contain chocolate, mulberry and honey and boast that they don't contain parabens, gluten, gmo's or sulphites, plus they're cruelty free. The sheet mask itself is made from Tencel fibres and are completely biodegradable. The sheets are quite wet when you take them out of the package, but I like knowing there's enough product to sink into my skin and it does help it adhere and stay on the face well. I left this on for 15 minutes and rubbed the remaining excess serum into my skin. I have to say, my skin looked amazing afterwards. It looked moisturized, hydrated and even. It didn't cause me to break out at all and my skin still felt soft and looked great the following day. I was really impressed by this sheet mask.
Would I buy again? Absolutely! I already have.
I'm not going to go too in depth here, since I did an entire review on these. My nails and hands get extremely dry in the colder months and usually look a mess. I saw these on Shop Miss A for $1.00 and just had to try them out. These have some pretty good ingredients and they worked really well. The difference in my nails and cuticle area were surprising. Would I buy again? Yes. I actually went back to the website after writing my review and stocked up.
I initially bought this almost a year ago for my Halloween makeup. I had done a half zipper face and the inside was all glitter. I used the NYX Glitter Primer over much of my face and it made the glitter application quite easy. The glitter does stick best when applying with your finger and pressing it on, but once it was on with the primer, it stayed on all night. It didn't creep over to other areas of my face at all, which was impressive considering how much of it was on my face. I would up by using it again the following Halloween when I dressed as a scary killer clown. I used the glitter primer and glitter around my eyes, on the tip of my nose and around the giant mouth I drew in. It was a ton of glitter primer, but it worked and it looked awesome. People actually couldn't believe how clean and clear the lines were and that it stayed in place.
Would I buy again? Yes. This is another item that I've already replaced because I was getting low around Halloween time and wanted to make sure that I didn't run out.
I initially had tried out the Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla and loved it. I loved everything about it....the scent, the taste and the way it moisturized my lips along with it's staying power. Unfortunately when I went to replace it, I couldn't find that flavour anymore and wound up by buying this particular one, which is raspberry rose. It was okay at first...I liked the vanilla better, but it still worked just as well for me. The flavour actually grew on me and while vanilla is still my absolute favourite, I really enjoy the raspberry as well. I wear this each night and I find it lasts me the best out of any others I've tried. It leaves my lips feeling moisturized and hydrated.
Would I buy again? I absolutely would, however like the vanilla, I can't seem to find this particular flavour again....*sigh*.
