March 2019 Ipsy Glam Bag
March's theme was in honour of National Women's History Month. The bag itself was fairly cute with a metallic rose look and navy blue zipper pull. It's very suitable for the theme with the saying 'and off she went to change the world' stamped into the bag. Here are the products I received this month along with whether I think they fit my profile and reviews given.
The first item was a Royal & Langnickel Moda Pro Precision Angle Brush. The handle on this has a soft, rubbery feel to it, which is actually quite nice. The description of this brush says that it can be used for contour and highlight, but I'll most likely just use it as an eyeshadow brush. I don't contour my nose (although I imagine it would be great for that) and I find it too small for cheekbones or jawline. The bristles are nice and soft - synthetic too - and I feel this will make a nice addition to my brush collection.
Profile: This fits my profile well. I ask for brushes and I rate them very highly every time I get them. I've never tried brushes from Royal & Langnickel, but I've heard good things, so I'm excited to try this one.
Second I received a Space Case Cosmetics eyeshadow in the shade Messy Lochnessy, which is a forest green shade with tiny gold flecks. I was really excited to receive this shadow. It was released in two shades and I was hoping that I would get this one. I love the colour green and I've been looking for some good green eyeshadows lately. I love the tone of this one and I especially love the name, Messy Lochnessy. I'm really looking forward to trying this shadow out with a nice bold eye look. I've never tried anything from the brand Space Case, but I'm in love with the names and shades of their products. Can't wait to get this one on my eyeballs!!
Profile: I have eye shadows on my profile, because I do love to receive them. Some of my favourite shades are little indie brand singles and I have a feeling this one will be no exception. Very happy for this one!
The third item in my bag was a mini lip lustre lipstick from Ciate London in the shade Wildfire, which is a shiny ruby hue, that is on the sheer side. This isn't the best shade for me, so I'm most likely going to pass on trying this one out. Ciate is supposed to be a great brand and I've received it a few times. I really wish that I would get a nice nude peach or brown shade so that I could actually try out the formula.
Profile: I have lipsticks and Ciate on my profile, so technically this fits that part. It doesn't fit the shades I prefer or the reviews that I generally give. This one is a miss for me.
My fourth item was a PUR Afterglow Mini Highlighting Skin Perfecting Powder. I have a few products from PUR, including other highlighters. I usually really enjoy them as they have lighter shades which suit my skin tone that really give me a good glow without settling into fine lines or texture. This mineral based makeup has a light gold iridescent shimmer to it which I'm really looking forward to trying out. This one doesn't come in case though, it's in a pan only, so I'm hoping that it's magnetic so I'm able to pop it in my Z-palette.
Profile: I have highlighters on my profile because I really enjoy them. I don't believe I have the PUR brand listed, but I'm not mad at this at all. I generally enjoy their highlighters, so I'll mark this as a win for me.
The fifth item I received was Sand & Sky's Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask. Like the name says, it contains Australian pink clay along with vitamins C and A to help brighten the skin, tighten pores, control oil production and more. If you're on social media, chances are you've seen this product show up on your feed. It's been very heavily advertised. I'm not sure whether the buzz is true or not and I'm not likely to test this one out right now. I'm in the middle of a strict skin care regime for a special project I'm a part of (more on that later) and can't test out new skin care products. I'll probably just pass this along to someone that has been wanting to give it a try.
Profile: I don't have skincare on my profile and I also don't have this brand checked (I don't think it's actually even an option). I'm not a fan of receiving skincare in my bag, so this one is a pass for me.
Overall, this month was pretty good. I'm most excited about the Space Case eyeshadow and the PUR highlighter, as well as the brush. At this point, I think I'm used to receiving lippies that just aren't my colour. The mask I might actually try if I was able to try new products right now, just because of all the buzz.
Overall Score: 4/5
