Review: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream
I wasn't sure what to expect from the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream. I have pretty dry skin, which just gets exceptionally worse in the winter time. I usually have to slather body cream on each night and generally go for heavier, thicker creams to try and hydrate and protect my skin.
The gel cream was very light weight. It's true to it's name and has a gel like consistency that is almost watery feeling. To be honest, it was a little disconcerting as it wasn't a texture I had ever used before. It spread quickly over my skin feeling light and quite wet. I have to say I was a little worried at first because of the wet feeling, but it absorbed quickly leaving behind soft and smooth skin that didn't feel greasy or tacky.
My skin actually feels hydrated and moisturized while using this and I really like it, especially after bathing as an all-over body moisturizer. Despite being so light it just feels like it's locking in the moisture for me. The scent is light and clean - not overpowering at all.
The packaging is attractive - a bright blue and white with an easy to use pump. I have been using a tub of heavy body cream and I like that this has a pump, so I don't have to keep dipping into it. It's just less fussy and more sanitary. This is a little on the pricey side for drugstore, but a little does go a long way with this, so I feel it's worth it. Plus it just works for me, which is something that can be hard to find for dry, winter skin.
