Review: Kalaya Naturals

Kalaya Naturals is a 100% Canadian company, which means that all their research, development and manufacturing is done right here in Canada. I really like the fact that it's a local product as well, manufactured right here in the Waterloo, Ontario region. I thought this was a newer product line, but in fact Kalaya Naturals has been around for over 10 years and after testing out a few of their products I can see why they've been around for so long. I've found that natural based products can be quite hit and miss, sometimes forgoing efficacy for natural ingredients. The products that I tried from Kalaya delivered on their promises and one in particular has really become a favourite of mine.

The Pain Relief Rub is my favourite (so far!) product from Kalaya. As an avid fitness freak, I've tried out many different brands and this one is a clear winner for me.

I've recently learned that I had a rib out of place for over a year, which has caused a lot of surrounding muscle pain. Even though the rib is now back in place and I get treatment each week, some days - especially after visiting the chiropractor - I'm in quite a bit of pain. I've been using the pain rub on the area at night and sometimes when I go out if it's bothering me and it has been a lifesaver some days. The rub contains Arnica, Eucalyptus Oil, Menthol, Camphor, MSM and Methyl Salicylate. The texture feels more like a thin lotion, rather than a thick, greasy concoction like many rubs. This means it spreads out easily and absorbs quickly. I was surprised that it left no greasy feeling at all. Shortly after applying, I felt the hot/cold sensation as it began to warm up on my skin. The combination of ingredients in this works so well for me. It keeps the painful area warmed and helps reduce inflammation providing me with some relief so that I can either go about my day or get some much needed sleep. Like most rubs you can really smell the eucalyptus and menthol in it. I actually like the smell of this product - it strangely reminds me of mints that my grandma always had on hand, so it's a bit comforting. I can't even tell you how happy I am with this product!

Kalaya Naturals Pain Relief Rub Rating: 5/5

My hands are normally pretty dry on a day to day basis, but add in our cold Canadian winters and my hands just become so dry, especially around the nail area. I normally use really heavy hand/body creams to try and help with the issue, so I was excited to see how this product would perform.

The Kalaya Naturals Hand Cream contains aloe vera, coconut oil and marula oil. This does have a light coconut scent to it, but it's not overpowering at all. I'm not really a huge fan of coconut scented items, but this one doesn't bother me at all because it's so light. I found this absorbed into my hands quickly and left them feeling hydrated and moisturized, which is important to me, especially in the winter. It's not a very thick cream, so I was surprised by how moisturized and protected my hands felt. I liked this so much, it found a place in my purse so it's always with me.

I've never used a moisturizing mouthwash or oral rinse before, but this worked out well since I had a pretty nasty virus, which had me breathing through my mouth quite a bit. This formula is alcohol free, which I really enjoy. It doesn't leave a burning sensation in my mouth or tongue and I know it's safe for my kids to use as well, which is always a nice option.

The Kalaya Naturals Breath Refresh has a minty taste to it which left my mouth feeling clean and refreshed without irritation. I also like the packaging on this product. The top of the bottle has a handy measuring cup, which makes this perfect for travelling.

As you can see, I was impressed with the three products that I had the opportunity to test out. The packaging on everything was bright, crisp, clean and attractive and the products themselves were all high quality and effective. I'm so glad that I've learned about this amazing Canadian brand and I can't wait to try out more products from them. You can find Kalaya Naturals online at , Walmart and Goodness Me as well as many other retailers.
