Review: M.A.D Skincare Delicate Skin Cleansing Gel
I'm back!! It feels like forever since I posted although it's really only been a couple of weeks or so. My husband had to take a trip for work down to Portland, Maine and since Maine is on my bucket list to visit, I just had to tag along. We made a road trip of it and went a couple of extra days so we could explore and it really did not disappoint. It was exactly what I needed, which was relaxing, recharging and just a total reset. Maine is as beautiful as I though it would be with the ocean views, the lighthouses and just the total charm of the area. The people were friendly, driver's courteous and oh my goodness...there was so much gluten free food available for this celiac, that I didn't stress at all while away.
Now on to the review...one of the things that made me write this review is because one of the first things I packed in my train case, was the M.A.D Skincare Delicate Skin Cleansing Gel. I used Cetaphil for years and didn't really get excited for new cleansers. I initially received a sample of this through Ipsy and while I normally just pass cleansers along, I wanted to give this one a try and I've been using it ever since. I'm actually disappointed that this isn't available in Canada yet, however I took to makeup groups on Facebook and my makeup/skincare loving friends and stocked up on a bunch of sample sized tubes, as you can tell from my pictures.
One of the great things is, I only need a very small amount to cleanse my face, so these tend to last me awhile. The texture of this cleanser is a very thin gel and that actually didn't impress me at first, but what I really love is that when I rub my hands together and apply this to my face it's turned into a light, bubbly foam that just feels so nice against my skin. The feeling remains as I rub in circular motions to cleanse my face and I'm just really drawn to the texture and feel against my skin. It rinses quickly and easily as well, leaving my skin feeling clean and refreshed without feeling dry or tight. I never experienced any breakouts or irritation after I switched over to this cleanser, which can tend to happen to me when I try out a new product.
The cleanser contains chamomile, which is known to help with irritated skin, licorice extract which is a natural anti-inflammatory, aloe vera, which is known to soothe and hydrate irritated skin and also Prodew 400 which contains 8 different amino acids along with lactic acid and sodium PCA. This is supposed to protect the skin against dryness, while aiding in moisturizing the skin and helping with elasticity. This cleanser doesn't contain any parabens or chemical colourants.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I'm finished with all my little sample sized bottles. I did notice on their distribution map that Canada has a few points of future distribution, so fingers crossed that by the time these run out, it will be available for purchase here.
