Review: L'Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation

I'm usually a big fan of L'Oreal foundations. I find they have some of the best at the drugstore and usually work better on my skin than even higher end foundations from Sephora. I've been using their Infallible Pro Matte Foundation for years and it's one of my go-to's when I want a foundation that I can rely on for all day, full cover wear. I was excited when they first launched the Infallible 24 Hour Fresh Wear Foundation. I've been trying this out now for several weeks and I have to say that it's probably in my top 5 drugstore foundation favourites. It blends into the skin effortlessly and really does give a natural skin appearance while still covering up light redness and imperfections. It blends well with both a brush and a sponge and gives a good medium coverage that doesn't feel or look heavy.

I do find the overall finish and performance can really vary depending on primer and other products used, so if you try this and don't like the way it sits, try another product underneath it because it does make a difference with this foundation. I had first used it with my Smashbox Primerizer an didn't like the way it sat on my skin at all and it didn't wear very well either. I thought this foundation was going to be a huge fail for me. I later tried it with Benefit Porefessional and also Tatcha Silk Canvas and the foundation looked lovely on my skin. It doesn't settle into my fine lines or exaggerate them too much which is always what I'm looking for. I do prefer the Infallible Matte formula from L'Oreal but this one still performs really well when I want something less heavy and it lasts all day as well (although it becomes a little more noticeable after about 5 hours of wear if you look really close up).

L'Oreal Infallible 24 HR Fresh Wear Foundation comes in 30 different shades with a variety of undertones and it does have some great options for very pale skin. I used shade 400 Pearl. It generally retails for around $20, but you can find it on sale for about $14.

What is your favourite drugstore/affordable foundation? Have you tried this one? Did it work for you?
